Gospel means Good News.  Mark was the first one to write down the Good News.  So what is this Good News?  The Good News is found in the Red Letters that are the words of Jesus.  Every time Jesus spoke, He was revealing God’s Kingdom.  It is in these Red Letters that we find Jesus as the ONE who challenges, confounds, and even breaks religious, social, and political stereotypes as He reveals His PURPOSE for coming into this world.  These Red Letters are meant to show us Jesus as the CHRIST, SAVIOR, and IMAGE of GOD.  What’s more, these Red Letters are meant to give us a LIFE worth living and a Savior WORTH following.

Red Letters

A Tarnished Rep

Jesus commands us to get rid of those things in life that keep us from following Him. If something causes you to sin… Cut it out of your life! Jesus is referring to anything that tempts us away from God’s will.

The Beginning of the Good News

Good News is a frequent term used in Mark. The Good News that Jesus preached was the Kingdom of God has finally arrived, and that people need to repent and believe in Him as Christ. All people need to hear the Good News.

Mom, Family, and the Devil

At this point in the Red Letters, both Jesus family and the religious leaders are opposed to His work.  Only time and a willingness to see Jesus as the Son of God would help His family become family in God’s Kingdom.

How Ready is Your Heart, Pt. 1

The Kingdom of God was a mystery to anyone who was not ready to hear and receive.  For this reason, Jesus often spoke in parables.  The question is… “How ready are you to receive God’s word?”

Don’t You Understand Yet?

God cares about your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.  Jesus has come to save the whole person.  Yet, people did not seem to understand that Jesus has come to do more.  Jesus has come to feed in such a way that leads to eternity.
