“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF THE FUTURE!
“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Mission
To provide a safe environment and foundation for every child to be successful in all aspects of life, through age appropriate activities that promote academics and Christian beliefs, while receiving the love of Jesus Christ.
Philosophy of Christian Education
The purpose of Saint Stephen Preschool is to assist parents in training children to know and love Jesus Christ. Saint Stephen Preschool exists because of the role God has called the Church to carry out in Christian Education.
One of the primary goals of Christian Education is character training. To train means to discipline, to exercise, to teach and to form by practice.
Goals
The staff and board of Saint Stephen Preschool believe each child will learn to do the following:
- See themselves as someone special and loved by God
- Respect authority
- Pay attention
- Apply themselves to the task at hand
- Obey willingly and immediately
- Do their best
- Learn rules and apply them
- Select appropriate behavior for specific settings
- Recognize and respect the rights of others
- Glorify God through their creative abilities
- Follow directions
- Build relationships through fellowship with peers
- Learn spiritual lessons through God’s word
-Develop small and gross motor skills
- Broaden listening and speaking vocabulary
- Participate as speaker and listener in conversation
- Sing songs and participate in rhythmical activities
- Develop an understanding of basic concepts like colors, shapes, letters, and numbers
- Develop pre-reading and writing skills
Structure
Each preschool class is taught by a certified teacher and an aide. Curriculum follows the kindergarten TEKS. The three year old classes will touch on the major concepts of the TEKS, the four year old classes will be introduced to the majority of the concepts, and the five year old class will master the beginning concepts and be familiar with all. Lessons are centered around weekly themes and Bible teachings.
Saint Stephen Preschool is in session during the school year and follows the AISD calendar. Registration begins in April for the following school year. A non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 will be collected for each child. Tuition is paid on a monthly basis due on the first of the month.

Your child will receive a packet in August containing all the information and a supply list for his/her class. Also in August, the teacher will contact you to set up a home visit to meet your child. A Meet and Greet will be held before school starts in which your child can visit the classroom and become familiar with the building.
