From Ashes to Fire

love this time in the liturgical calendar that takes us from

“Ashes to Fire.”  From Ash Wednesday, February 17th, to Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd, we have the opportunity to journey with Christ to Jerusalem, the Cross, the Grave, to Heaven, and then back into the hearts of his disciples on earth.  The journey begins this Wednesday with the “Poverty Meal” at 5:40 and the Ash Wednesday Service at 6:30 in the sanctuary.

Then on the first Sunday of Lent we will begin our Lenten/Easter Sermon series. Garments of Salvation is the theme and will include the following sermons:

Sunday, February 21st - “Clothed and in his Right Mind”

     Mark 5:1-20

Sunday, February 28th - “If I but Touch His Robe”

                 Mark 5:24b-34

Sunday, March 7th - “The Wedding Garment of Grace”

  Matthew 22:1-14

Sunday, March 14th - “Dressed in Purple”

    Luke 16:19-31

Sunday, March 21st - “Unbind Him; Let Him Go”

John 11:38-44

Sunday, March 28th - PALM SUNDAY – “Garments of Praise”

       Luke 19:28-40

Sunday, April 4 - EASTER – “The Empty Shroud”

John 20:1-8

Sunday, April 11 - “The Robe of Righteousness”

Philippians 3:7-11

I hope you won’t miss a single service.  And don’t forget about our annual Coat Drive on Palm Sunday.

Blessings on you and yours this special time of year,

Stan
